SINGAPORE SLING!

Membrane Interface Probe (MIP) run on Numac Geoprobe 7822 in Singapore.

Early 2016 saw Numac provide 2 Geoprobe machines running double shift for a large scale environmental assessment. The investigation included a large Membrane Interface Probe (MIP) investigation which we believe was a first for Singapore. The first rig was transported via sea container along with all the installation materials whilst the second machine became the first Numac rig ever to mobilise to site by air!
Overall it was a great experience for all the crews involved and a big learning curve for the operations team. Interestingly we saw the first reference to a monkey in a Numac safety meeting after equipment was tampered with overnight on a couple of occasions.
Approximately 500 bore locations (MIP, push tube and monitoring wells), were completed without incident.
A Geoprobe 7720 is now based in Singapore and has been busily working on projects in the region.
