R01 - Our first Geoprobe returns to service after full rebuild and upgrade.

We very excited to see the results of the workshop teams meticulous restoration of Rig 1, Geoprobe 6620. This is not a basic re-spray and re-hose. Every single nut and bolt on R1 has been removed, reconditioned or replaced. The mast ram has been extended to match the stroke of the later model 77 machines making it much more versatile. Every pivot point and hydraulic ram mount has been re-machined to allow for new pins and bushes at far smaller tolerances than the original build. There is a new upgraded oil filter system and significant changes to the hydraulic hosing design. The list of upgrades is far to long to go through here but we will get the team to document the whole build and get the full details listed on the website soon. The fact that this full build was done in-house at Numac makes it even more special.

A few of the modifications to this Geoprobe:

  • Side control panel tool holder

  • Cupboards, storage box

  • Filter bay – High pressure hyd, low pressure hyd, “fuel/water separator and fuel filter” or “Primary and secondary fuel filters”.

  • Cage

  • Probe cylinder hose clamps

  • Adjustable chassis slides top and bottom

  • New decal

  • Rear rod rack

  • Removable side rod rack

  • Warning beeper synced with warning lights

  • Greaseable sheave wheel bushes

  • Engine lid pull down latch

  • Auger head pin locator

  • High pressure filter system added

  • Relocate low pressure filter system

  • Modify all cylinder “rod” and “butt” ends to accommodate bushes

  • Extend mast and winch mast

  • Add extra “E-stop”

  • Battery and starter isolators

  • Changed all Hershman/Din plugs to LED plugs

  • Mast rest blocks

  • Mast hose carrier rest block
